For Fairtrade Fortnight thousands of individuals, companies and groups across the UK come together to share the stories of the people who grow our food and drinks and who grow the cotton in our clothes, people who are often exploited and underpaid. (Usually last Monday of February, then 2 weeks till Sunday) On 22 September people from around the world get together in the streets, intersections, and neighbourhood blocks to remind the world that we don't have to accept our car-dominated society. (Worldwide, every 22 September) The aim of the week is to encourage people to think about all those items that often get forgotten about when recycling at home. And to encourage people to recycle more, waste less and take up the challenge for sustainable living. From second, third (or fourth) Monday in October, to Sunday. |

The aim of the group is to draw community and environmental groups into wider group collaboration and cross-fertilisation of ideas as well as a source of individual support.
