Recycle week
The aim of the week is to encourage people to think about all those items that often get forgotten about when recycling at home. And to encourage people to recycle more, waste less and take up the challenge for sustainable living. From second, third (or fourth) Monday in October, to Sunday.

Fairtrade fortnight
For Fairtrade Fortnight thousands of individuals, companies and groups across the UK come together to share the stories of the people who grow our food and drinks and who grow the cotton in our clothes, people who are often exploited and underpaid. (Usually last Monday of February, then 2 weeks till Sunday)

Climate Cafe Meetup
The aim of the group is to draw community and environmental groups into wider group collaboration and cross-fertilisation of ideas as well as a source of individual support. Event is free but a donation is very welcome to cover costs. Usually last Thursday of the month. Usually at The Patch in the old library.

Vegetarian day
To raise awareness of the benefits of a vegetarian diet in terms of ethics and environmental sustainability. A vegetarian avoids all meat incl fish, but eats dairy and eggs. Worldwide, every 1st October.
